Why do I need a NOWCA wristband?

Modified on Sat, 15 Jul 2023 at 07:26 AM

At NOWCA affiliated venues, swimmers must ‘scan in’ when they enter the water and ‘scan out’ after their swim. This allows venue operators to know exactly who and how many people are in the water.

When you scan out, the distance you have swum can be recorded against your NOWCA account so you can keep track of your swimming stats.

The wristband contains your membership details and swimming stats.  Most importantly, it contains medical information & emergency contacts supplied by you on registration.  This ensures that in the event of an emergency, your vital details can be accessed instantaneously by simply scanning your band.

The wristband can also be used as a timing device for events hosted by NOWCA affiliated venues.

** Every venue has a stock of wristbands.  Your NOWCA account information is linked to that wristband when you collect it from a venue.  This means that as soon as you have set up a NOWCA account and paid your membership fee, a wristband will be available for collection from the venue.
